Wild Adventures
Age group: 9 - 12 years I Program duration: 9am - 3pm I Cost: $72 per child
Packed with hands-on activities and animal encounters, this program lets kids step into the shoes of a wildlife keeper! Each day is different with activities like creating animal enrichment, designing habitats and exploring how nature is respected by First Nations peoples. We will provide participants with everything needed to fulfill the programs but pack snacks, lunch and a reusable water bottle as every program will be an action-packed day!
Check-ins open from 8.15am. Please note, individual program activities are subject to change due to the nature of working with animals.

The Kombumerri People, like all First Nations Peoples, had a deep connection to the land they lived on and cared for, extending to the animals and plants around them. In this program, kids will discover how they used plants for food and medicine, made ochre, and used it for body decoration and artwork. Kids will also meet our animal ambassadors and learn how First Nations Peoples honored, cared for, and learned from totem animals, immortalising them in Dreaming stories.

Animal Trainer for a Day

In this program, kids can step into the shoes of an animal trainer and learn about training techniques that we use both for animal health checks and behaviours for our conservation shows. The best part of it is that many of the techniques participants will learn can be used on household pets!

Conservation Champions at Currumbin

Ready to become a Conservation Champion and stand up for wildlife? In this program, kids will meet our animal ambassadors, learn why they’re under threat, and most importantly, how they can help. From planting native plants to being a responsible pet owner, kids will leave with the knowledge to protect our native wildlife and teach others to do the same.

Currumbin Wildlife Hospital plays such an important role in our community, saving more than 14,000 wildlife patients every year. Our ‘Vet for a Day’ program gives kids an insight into animal rescue and rehabilitation, release techniques, and veterinary equipment used for important health checks.
